Ruckus Fiddlesticks

Who's this friendly bundle of shenanigans?Hailing from the plains of Drybone, the son of caravan canteeners at the once-bustling waypoint of the Golden Bazaar, Ruckus spent most of his carefree boyhood bothering aldgoats. The events of Dalamud's fall dramatically changed both landscape through Eastern Thanalan, and the Calamity's chaos also claimed his parents, who had gone down to Ul'dah's walls to help feed the defenders of the city under siege.Ruckus (then known as Ruddle Fuddle) was left behind to hunker down and keep the family tuco-tuco taco stand up and running, should the worst happen. It did. The wealth of his beloved home hamlet dried up, caravan traffic slowing to a lazy drip as the local outposts of Highbridge and Camp Drybone rose to prominence and nearby chapel became a sprawling burial site for those lost to the tragedy.Earning a local troublemaker's reputation through the ends of his restless adolescence, the young Lalafell taught himself to be scrappy in a fight, stand up for what's right and to chase big dreams. (He also may have dug up a cache of moonshine or two, intruded upon the ruins of Belah'dia, damaged public well pulleys, and caused enough general mischief at local burials that Church of Adama Landama banned him from setting foot in the lichyard.)One day, a wealthy monetarist passing through offered him a sackful of gil and false promises of an enterprising future that led him to leave home and seek his fortune in Ul'dah. Once getting his first taste of big city life, (and a real kick in the teeth of his pride) he ditched the foiled plans of franchising his family's tuco-tuco taco stand and signed on with every guild that would teach him a trick or two, destined to become a plucky adventurer instead! With small time food service put behind him, he wound up taking to the roads and exploring Eorzea, hustling small deals between tribes of Goblins under the moniker 'Fiddlestix' for exclusive cheeses and working in supply & provisioning for the Maelstrom. He lived freely, led by his whims and a growing love for Eorzea's diverse peoples. Evenings would often find him in a taproom, swapping stories or offering ludicrous limericks.A few years into his explorations now, Ruckus still travels the world seeking excitement and the next tall tale to tell. He's been eagerly sampling every trade and martial skill he can get his hands into, lacking the patience or self-discipline to really claim mastery over most of them. Not really aware of his limits, Ruckus tends to jump in with both feet first and pick himself up again bouyantly, failure after failure. He has recently settled down in the years following the Final Days, opening his crash pad flat in the Goblet to friends and strangers alike in hopes of sneaking a grin on their faces. A juggler of side hustles, Ruckus often has sweeping eager entreprenureal ambitions, if through scattershot means of developing his merchantile reputation.Whether homebrewing nopales moonshine or running prototype kitchen appliance testing for Skysteel manufactory, he's always eager to experiment with new creations to serve!Insufferably chatty, infectiously curious and fast to engage in friendly conversatin', Ruckus is a well-connected, resilient and optimistic ally to rally your spirits when faced with fearsome foes!

Hannish Coffee Divinations

Want some insight into what fate holds for you? This traditional form of Dunesfolk fortunetelling was commonplace among the old caravaan culture, as finely-ground coffee is prepared in copper pots nestled in a shallow pan of fire-aspected aethersands.Drink up, then lets peer into the grounds at the bottom of your cup to consult the three sister-deities of Thavnair and see what guiding wisdom, keys to prosperity and clever ingenuity they have to offer you!Tips Appreciated, but not required!-Roll /random 333, 3 times!

Ruckus Fiddlesticks

Ruckus is a genial fella, usually eager to strike up small talk and build new connections! If you'd like to start with some shared history with him, here's a few points of interest:Hometown Rascal -
Hail from East Thanalan? Then you've likely heard all about his juvenile antics. However locally notorious for stirrin' up chaos, Ruckus always managed to talk his way out of serious trouble.
Jack of all Trades, Master of Fun -
Know how all the guildmasters bemoan ''These New Adventurers' with low committment issues? That's Ruckus in a nutshell. In his early years adventuring, he's eagerly tried his hand 'round most of the trade guilds and martial forms, bouncing to the next novel skill as soon as he found himself challenged by putting in the work. He may be fondly remembered as a friendly bright-eyed novice, but not one particularly given to grueling practices of 'boring' repetitive training.
Barfly ... -
A sociable fellow, Ruckus is a familiar face at many watering holes across Eorzea, known for affable jokes and limericks, easy to strike up conversation with. You can often find him hosting smoothie brunches at his crashpad, Funny Flat, in the Sultana's Breath. (Open Some Sundays: 2-4pm EST)
...& Moonshiner -
In recent years, he's taken up distilling Nopales Moonshine as passion project and, with support of his merchant-networking, turned it into a fast-growing specialty spirits label. Having aquired a deed in the Goblet and land for agricultural development back in Drybone, he's opened a distillery and taqueria with his best friend Pakeke Pake. Cactuar Cantina is Open Saturdays: 4-7pm EST.
Avid Limerickist!
Ruckus is clever with a verse, and although he can 'barely beat on bongos', his bardic talents lie in witty rhyme and storytelling. He's even taught a handful of lectures on poetry and Lalafellin alliterative influence on Eorzean Common linguistics.
Merchant
Ruckus can usually be found at the Farmer's Attic Market in Empyreum, haggling with his fellow vendors or catching the latest gossip (Sundays 12-2pm EST). He works in sales for Ironkind Commercial Collective, and can sometimes be found vending at the Eorzean Event Committee's seasonal events and other festivals.
Gobbie Cheesemonger
Since loaning a ready hand to trouble with the primal Alexander, brushing shoulders with the Warrior of Light, Ruckus has earned the trust of the Bigwest Shortstop gobbieflock near Idyllshire. He deals in exclusive Dravanian cheeses from his supplier, Curdlix, running them to tasting rooms and restaurants in La Noscea. He also sells a few select 'off-market' cheese with curious recreational side effects to private buyers.
Maelstrom Provisioner
Ruckus has put in a bit of time with the Grand Company, though his hopes of living a swashbuckling fantasy on the high seas were a little less glamourous. He's travelled Far East with alliance livestock support of the Bozjan Resistance, and worked munitions supply lines at Ghimlyt, alongside Skysteel machinists of Ishgard.

looking for/willing to provide:
- lore friendly & immersive 18+ SFW RP
I'm an adult here, pretending to be a younger adult, finding his way in a collaboratively created storytelling world. I try to honor the spirit of the game's setting as much as possible, but also tack on my own pieces!
- conversational dialogue
I may swap to longer prose for more involved scenes, and happily will pick up an invite to 1-on-1 conversations, but I typically like to stick to an inclusive in-game RP in snappy public /say chat and an animated emotive rp style. If forming a party in a crowded space works easier for you, please ask!
- casual comedic tone
I can venture into darker/mature themes in private settings, but I primarily try to keep things bright, low-stakes fun & bantery on the venue scene.
- recurring development & continuity
I'm interested in building long-term friendships, rivalries, romance, trade mentorships, business partners and adventuring pals, all manner of aquaintances over time! Ruckus is quick to make all kinds of social connections, and I'm happy to see them evolve into more meaningful relationships.
- networking, icebreakers & promotionals
Let me talk up your venue so you don't need to pay shoutrunners, help word of mouth your upcoming events, or be your wallflower's wingman and help introduce you to some great people!
- venue & open world RP-friendly
(If you see me out in the wilds, don't be afraid to say hi!) I'm not always super-strict about remembering to throw my RP tag on, but it's safe to assume when approached that I will respond in-character if quotations are up.
- RP'd game content
.... want to run a semi-IC map night or dungeon run, or include me in your adventuring stories as a side character to feed your group information or barter with them for key items? I'm very down to play NPC or questgive or point-of-contact for longer term storylines.
- Food & Hospitality
If I haven't made it abundantly clear, I really enjoy cooking and casual food service rp! Though I'm usually loading up my calendar well in advance, I'm open to exploring new opportunities, especially in open world collective market communities.
not looking for
- player-on-player combat situations, character death
I'm not really into the physicality/power balancing of writing out fight scenes? Glad to spectate on the sidelines, but I keep most of my action sequences to running gameplay instead of through RP. I'm fine with character conflict, but when it comes to blow-by-blow violence against other player characters, it's not really my thing.
- high-powered characters/high stakes plotlines
Ruckus is not played as a WoL, and doesn't really participate in endgame MSQ levels of cosmic heroism. He's a middling-to-low powered adventurer with charisma and connections... while I'd be happy to serve a source of information for riskier RP plotlines, he's not likely to find himself at the center of the action.
- non-Eorzean AUs
Everything's In-Universe, usually presumed in-step with endgame (Dawntrail) timeline unless otherwise specified.
- an earful of your moral highground on Lalafell-appropriate content...
I may not be seeking ERP, but I won't step on anyone's right to play an adult character. I am old enough to be 18+ twice, and my lalafell is not child-coded either, thanks.
